Just a week after two collegiate athletes had commendable performances in their season openers, another athlete has recorded a top place finish.

Kalique St Jean finished first place overall in the men’s 600m event at the Pittsburgh State NAIA and JUCO Invitational over the weekend.

The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers Junior ran a time of 1:21.33, ahead of Baker’s Jordan Weimer and Lonnell Johnson who finished second and third respectively.

This run means that St Jean has qualified for the NAIA National Championships.

St Jean, who is an alumnus of the Princess Margaret School and 2017 Carifta Games silver medallist, was also a part of the school’s 4x400m relay team which finished second in a time of 3:18.53.

Not only did that quartet qualify for the NAIA National Championships but they also recorded a new indoor record for the school.
