St Anthony’s Secondary School (SASS) sent a strong message on Friday on the opening day of the Cool and Smooth Joma Ministry of Sports Female Competition when they had a commanding 5-1 victory over ABICE at home.
There was also a win for defending Champions PMS.
Despite ABICE taking an early lead through Annika Samuel‘s 9th-minute strike, SASS responded with an impressive second-half performance. Lola Byrne ignited the comeback in the 37th minute, followed by goals from Gabriella Mansoor (42′) and Alyssa Jardine (44′). Kavita Cordice then sealed the victory with two quick-fire goals in the 48th and 49th minutes, completing the 5-1 rout.
In other matches, Jennings Secondary School (JSS) and Antigua Girls’ High School (AGHS) played to a 1-1 draw at ARG, with Abigail McDonald scoring for JSS and Nafissa Quashie finding the net for AGHS.
The final match of the day saw Princess Margaret School (PMS) edge out Clare Hall Secondary School (CHSS) 1-0, thanks to a decisive goal from Rolisha Humphreys.
