Spanish Heat scorch Elites, Clippers snip Rebels in local basketball

Ottos Clippers and Spanish Heat celebrated wins across divisions one and two in the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) domestic competition on Monday night.

Playing in Division Three, Spanish Heat were burning hot against Wadadli Elite, winning the contest 82-69 at the JSC basketball complex.

Rolando Hamilton led the victors with a game high of 23 points and 19 rebounds but had assistance from Gabriel Perez who sank 16 points and six rebounds, while Jonathan Arias hit 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Najae George top-scored for the victors with 18 points and 1 rebound, while Rhonde Davis and T-Shawn Lewis had 12 and 11 points each.

Meanwhile, in Division Two, Clippers had the better of Rebels in a close contest, winning 52-48. Daryll Matthew was best on show for Clippers, sinking 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds with Presley Telemaque adding 13 points and 16 rebounds to the effort. Bruce White played off the bench for Rebels, top scoring with 12 points and picking up five rebounds, while Zuri Nesbitt hit 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
