Jesus Emmanuel and Maicol Reyes lead Spanish Heat’s charge off the bench as they recorded an 11-point triumph over Flyers 2 in the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Division 2 competition on Tuesday at the JSC basketball complex.
Emmanuel sank a game high of 22 points on nine of 16 shooting while also picking up three rebounds. Reyes contributed with 18 points and eight rebounds also in the winning cause. Charlie Daniel contributed with 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds while Wester Baptiste hit 11 points and picked up six rebounds.
In a losing effort for Flyers, Amare Browne top-scored with 15 points while Tyrese White contributed with 14 points and six rebounds off the bench.
In the other game contested, Old Road Daggers had the better of Fearless Crew by a 64-57 margin. Daggers started strong, outscoring Fearless Crew 16-12 and 15-14 in the first two quarters. Fearless Crew hit back in the third quarter to outscore their opponents 20-19 but Daggers secured the win with a 14-11 fourth quarter performance.
Jesus Lopez top scored with 18 points off the bench while Tyndale Telemaque hit 10 points and picked up seven rebounds both for Daggers. Takeem Martin shot a game-high of 21 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in a losing effort for Fearless Crew while Rafiki Harris added 13 points.
