The Belmont Clinic sponsored Soccer Academy were the recent recipients of “age appropriate” equipment including footballs, football boots, cones and football uniforms.

The timely donation was made last week by England-based coach, Adie Costello, a former York City and Doncaster Balles women’s football clubs.

Director of the Soccer Academy and former national player, Vaughn “Joey” Christopher, accepted the equipment on behalf of the organisation.

“We would like to thank coach Adie and Andrew for the timely donation. It will be put to good use by our coaches, Veron Edwards who is with the under-six players; coach, Sinclair Christian with the under-9; coach Urvin Lewis with the under-11 and yours truly with the under-13s to continue the work of developing the players,” he said.

The Soccer Academy currently operates from the Police Recreation Ground (PRG) on Saturdays between 8:30 am to 11 am and on Wednesdays between 4:15 pm and 6 pm.
