A multitude of soca fanatics converged at Carnival City — the Antigua Recreation Grounds — on Monday night to support their favourite artistes who were competing for one of the coveted spots to enter the finals of the Flow Party Monarch Competition.
The occasion was the 2019 semifinals in which 15 artistes took the stage in the Groovy and Jumpy segments in the hopes of making it to the finals.
Nevertheless, only six were successful in each category.
Vying for the Groovy Party Monarch crown will be Drastic, Kimmy, Menace XL, Naycha Kid, Ricardo Drue and Tian Winter who will be fighting to wrest the crown from last year’s soca champion, Ezzy Rattigan.
And in Jumpy segment, Tian Winter will be battling to defend his crown against finalists, K-Lee, Low Rider, Menace XL, Ricardo Drue, Supa Mario, and Zamoni.
The highly anticipated competition will take place on the night of Sunday, August 4th at Carnival City.
