Slam destroys Fearless Crew as Daggers wound Rebels in Division 2 basketball

New Generation Slam rebounded from their previous loss in Division 2 of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) competition on Monday night when they inflicted a 28 points beating on Fearless Crew 2, winning 62-34 at the JSC basketball complex.

Slam was in control of the contest straight through, outscoring Fearless Crew 2 by a 22-10 margin in the first quarter, 6-5 in the second quarter, 18-17 in the third and 16-12 in the fourth and final session.

The winners were led by John Rolland Jr who had 14 points and 17 rebounds. He was ably assisted by Keaddy Martin with 12 points, four assists and six steals while Anjis Anthony chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.

In a losing effort, Takeem Martin top scored for Fearless Crew with eight points and 12 rebounds.

In the other contest, Rebels defeated Old Road Daggers 82-75 also at the JSC basketball complex.

Daggers came out on top 20-15 in the first quarter before Rebels clinched the second and third quarters 26-25 and 28-17 respectively. The teams were equally matched at 13-13 in the fourth quarter.

Jules Williams led the charge for Rebels with 30 points and 12 rebounds. He received support from Tyndale Telemaque who sank 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Zuri Nesbitt contributed with 15 points.

Ariel Quallis led the scoring for Daggers with a game-high of 33 points and 12 rebounds. Kareem Jacobs scored 17 points off the bench while Ezekiel Francois had 14 points and 18 rebounds.
