Antigua and Barbuda’s National Girls’ Under-15 team had an outstanding showing against Grenada on Tuesday in the ongoing Concacaf Girls Under-15 Championships being held in Trinidad, hammering their opponents 5-0.
Contesting Group C of League B, Antigua and Barbuda’s Keitonya Skepple was on target, netting four times in the team’s dominant triumph. Daughter of former national striker, Kerry “Arab” Skepple, young Keitonya scored in minutes 3, 30, 39 and 70+4 while Denovia Jarvin scored in minute 46 for Antigua and Barbuda’s other goal.
The win comes following Antigua and Barbuda’s opening scoreless draw against hosts Trinidad and Tobago. The young Benna Girls are slated to play Curacao in their next match on Thursday [8 August].
Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago, got their first three points after defeating Curaçao also on Tuesday. Taya Williams scored the only goal of the match, in the 22nd minute.
League A and B will include a Group Stage and direct elimination Knockout Stage play, and they will crown their champion. The number of teams per league has been determined based on the Concacaf Women’s U-17 rankings of March 2024 and the final number of participants.
