As part of its 42nd anniversary celebration, the St John’s Co-operative Credit Union presented ten of its longstanding members with plaques of recognition.
Our Operations Manager, Mrs Lottoia Auguiste, attended the small ceremony and delivered the feature address. She congratulated and thanked the longstanding members for staying the course with SJCCU, and remarked that without them the strides made by SJCCU would not have been possible.
The Operations Manager went on to add that the St John’s Co-operative Credit Union has grown by leaps and bounds in terms of the products and services offered. She also gave those in attendance the assurance that SJCCU will continue to improve the lives of its members.
Ms Dorothea Blackman Brown, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Co-operative League brought greetings from the league. Ms Browne, congratulated SJCCU on the achievement of this milestone. She also congratulated the awardees, thanking them for their role in growing the Credit Union movement.
Former Antiguan and Barbudan Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Dr Sir Carl Roberts, spoke on behalf of the awardees. He thanked SJCCU for the award and recalled the many conversations he’d had with the late Ms Althea Crick, SJCCU’s first president, about the difference that they wanted the St John’s Co-operative Credit Union to make in the lives of its members.
Sir Carl went on to say that he was pleased with the level of service that members are receiving from SJCCU. He closed by saying that SJCCU had exceeded all expectations.
The Board of Directors, Management, and Staff also congratulated the awardees.
The St John’s Co-operative Credit Union was founded in 1982, and it is the first open-bonded Credit Union in Antigua and Barbuda.
