Sixteen teams have confirmed their participation for the upcoming ECVA Men and Women’s Volleyball Championships to be held over consecutive weekends here at the YMCA Volleyball Complex.

The first weekend of games, which runs from October 17 to 22, will feature the top female volleyballers from across the region.  Reigning champions St. Lucia, as well as Bermuda, Anguilla, Sint Maarten and Grenada will join host Antigua & Barbuda in battle for the championship trophy.

The men’s championship will run from October 23 to 28 and will see host and defending champions Antigua and Barbuda face stiff challenges from Grenada, St Lucia, Dominica, Saba, St Eustatius, Sint Maarten, Anguilla, British Virgin Islands and Bermuda.

President of the ABAVA, Wilbur Harrigan,  confirmed that his Local Organising Committee is working tirelessly towards ensuring a smooth and successful hosting of the upcoming tournaments.  He further anticipates that level of games and competition will be at an all-time high, but is confident that both our teams will represent us with success and pride.   Harrigan, also pleaded for more support from corporate Antigua towards his association’s viable staging of the event.

Antigua and Barbuda’s male and female teams have been in intense training for the last six weeks in preparation for the upcoming tournaments.
