A regional sexologist says stealthing transforms consensual sex into a non-consensual act and is recognized as a form of gender based violence.
Trinidadian Onika Henry says the new term describes a disturbing practice where men or women remove condoms during sex without their partner knowing.

Henry says the rape adjacent act is not just about men wanting to feel pleasure by removing the condom but rather men justifying the act as a natural male right.

She also says the feedback from men and the online community shows that there is a link between stealthing and the idealogy of male supremacy whereby the man has full control over sexual intercourse.
