The senior men’s national volleyballers opened their Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Senior men’s Qualifiers with a victory over St. Kitts and Nevis in their Group A encounter.
Playing at the La Borie Indoor facility in Grenada, Team Antigua and Barbuda trounced long time rivals, St. Kitts and Nevis in straight sets on Friday morning.
The 25-8, 25-22, 25-11 victory gives Antigua and Barbuda a much-needed win before their toughest group match versus defending champions and the number one ranked Caribbean team, St. Lucia last evening.
St. Lucia already recorded their first win versus St. Kitts and Nevis on Thursday winning in straight sets, 25-13, 25-14, 25-11.
A win over the defending champions would give Antigua and Barbuda an automatic spot in the semi-finals.
Only the top overall team will advance to the 2019 Norceca’s Continental Championships in Cuba in September.
