Following their opening defeat to the Cayman Islands last week, Antigua and Barbuda’s senior women’s netballers have bounced back and are now on a three-game winning streak.
The first of those three wins came last Friday evening as they trounced the home team, St Maarten, by a 62-58 score line.
Hours later on Saturday morning, they handed long-time rivals, St Kitts and Nevis a 59-28 thrashing while, with their most recent win on Saturday evening, they edged out St Kitts and Nevis once again, 49-40.
Playing in the Battle of the Saints ranking tournament at the LB Scott Sports Auditorium in St Maarten, the teams will play each other twice and will gain essential ranking points for the World Netball rankings list after each match. The more matches each team wins, the higher its ranking will be.
Antigua and Barbuda’s most recent ranking was 45th.
They will face the Cayman Islands and St Martin in their final matches.
The team is comprised of Patara Davis, Amey Lake, Kizzy Thomas, Kizzy Hughes, Naomi Ephraim, Harmony Edwards, Rayana Regis, Seymone Parks, Shermaine Reifer, Sanchez Martin and Adina Andre.
The Head Coach is Karen Joseph.
