Hon. Samantha Marshall SAP FC’s dismal run continues this season as the former Antigua Premier League (APL) champions have yet to gain a point.
SAP suffered their largest margin of defeat on Saturday night at the historic Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG), losing by a disappointing 4-1 margin to Tryum FC.
National player Peter “Big Pete” Byers seemingly gave the struggling team some hope in the first half, as the top striker found the back of the net in the 20th minute.
Those celebrations were however short-lived for the round-south team as Tryum turned on the heat in the second half.
Atapharoy Bygrave led the victors as the Jamaican sensation fell just one goal shy of a hattrick, scoring in the 69th and 70th minutes.
Five minutes later teammate Curlon Joseph would find the back of the net, while the final goal came in the 92nd minute by Darayan James.
With this win, Tryum FC moved up to the eighth position with four points, one point ahead of FC Aston Villa.
SAP remain at the bottom of the 10-team table, as they have yet to gain a point.
Former champions Asot’s Arcade Parham FC bounced back from their upsetting 2-0 defeat to Richie Rich Five Islands a week prior.
Parham edged out newbies FC Aston Villa 1-0 in the feature match on Saturday with a strike from Nazir McBurnette in the 73rd minute.
The former champions now move to the 4th spot with 10 points, identical to that of Five Islands FC and Wadadli Events Services, Oyster, VEG International Swetes FC.
Both Swetes and Five Islands however edge out Parham with a better goal average.
Villa dropped to the 9th spot with three points after five showings.
