Sandals secure 2018 League title

Sandals were officially crowned the 2018 Cool and Smooth Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business League champions.
The powerhouse team wrapped up their regular season matches with an impressive 18-1 record after recording an 82-74 victory over APUA Water on Monday night at the JSC Sports Complex.
Devorn Benjamin led the champions with 26 points.
He was assisted by Keroi “Dragon” Lee and Adissa “Rass-I” Harris who sank 18 and 16 points respectively. 
Michael Jeffers had a game-high 28 points for the watermen as they moved to 14th place on the 20-team standings.
The champions will look to secure the double as the ‘Sweet Sixteen’ playoffs will shoot off on Saturday. 
Dadli Designs cut their three-game losing streak to edge out newbies, FLOW, 60-56.
Jamar Bird and Felix Hamilton both netted 13 points for the victors, moving them to the 10th spot with a 7-12 record.
FLOW however dropped to the 15th spot despite a 21-point effort by Mico Scotland.
In the other matches played that night, Police upset Dixie in double overtime while A-mobile Young Rivals lost by default to Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board (ABTB).
The lawmen, led by Dale Gore with 15 points, handed Dixie a 71-62 defeat.
Dixie’s George Francis scored 26.
With this loss, Dixie dropped to the 14th spot. (Carlena Knight)
