Sandals nip Dixie, defending champs win again in Business League Basketball

Title hopefuls Sandals edged Dixie by just one point in the Cool & Smooth Business League Basketball Competition on Monday, winning 64-63 when they clashed at the JSC basketball complex.
Leading the charge for the victors, Jamal Williams sank 16 points but received welcomed assistance from Adissa Harris and Keroi Lee who added 15 and 12 points respectively.
In a losing effort, George Harris had a game-high 23 points while Kelvyn Pimental scored 11 points for Dixie.
Meanwhile, frontrunners and defending champions Transport Board outscored ABIIT 74-68. Former national player, Marlon “Buju” Charles dominated scoring as he amassed 27 points for the victors. Charles, who plays for Ovals Ojays in the national league, was assisted by Kareem Edwards and Shawn Williams who both had 16 points.
Michael Barton and Michael Gunthropes were best on show for ABIIT, hitting 21 and 16 points respectively.
There was victory as well for Police as the lawmen bettered Dadli Designs 57-50. Carlton Albert and Leroy Jeffrey hit 13 and 12 points respectively for Police while Jamar Bird with 19 points and Alexis Jackson with 14 points, were the top scorers for the losing team.
In the other game contested, Anjo beat Kennedy’s 76-63. Sharife Sergeant and Andrew Venture were on target for the winners for 17 points each. Xavier Meade and Kavari Francis were the top scorers for Kennedy’s with 17 and 10 points each.
