In a thrilling night of basketball, the Cool & Smooth ABBA Business Basketball League 2024 saw three intense matchups that kept fans on the edge of their seats. The games, played on September 28 at the JSC Sports Complex saw victories for Sandals, Board of Education and Richie Shooterz.

Sandals Edges Out H Wright Promotions in Nail-Biter

The evening kicked off with a closely contested battle between Sandals and H Wright Promotions. Sandals emerged victorious with a final score of 67-61, but the six-point margin doesn’t tell the whole story of this tightly fought match.

T-Shawn Lewis led the charge for Sandals with an impressive all-around performance, notching 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals. His efforts were complemented by Kim Casey, who contributed 13 points and three steals, and Selassie Brathwaite, who added 12 points and three assists.

H Wright Promotions didn’t go down without a fight, thanks largely to the stellar play of Jevonte Valerie. He posted a game-high 20 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Humroy Wright also made his presence felt with 18 points and five rebounds.

Board of Education Survives Late Surge from Eye Mobile Vision Care

In the second game of the night, the Board of Education squeaked out a narrow victory over Eye Mobile Vision Care, with a final score of 68-65. The three-point win came on the back of strong performances from the Board’s dynamic duo.

Xavier Meade led all scorers with 22 points while also pulling down seven rebounds. His teammate David Hernandez matched him on the boards with seven rebounds of his own, while also pouring in 18 points.

Eye Mobile Vision Care’s effort was spearheaded by Tehran Zachariah, who scored 16 points, and Dominick Anthony, who chipped in with 10 points. Despite their valiant effort, it wasn’t quite enough to overcome the Board of Education’s balanced attack.

Richie’s Shooterz Lights Up Scoreboard Against ABTB

The final game of the evening saw Richie’s Shooterz live up to their name, as they rained buckets on ABTB en route to an 84-63 victory. The 21-point win was a true team effort, with five players scoring in double figures.

Cohen Desouza was the standout performer for Richie’s Shooterz, flirting with a quadruple-double as he filled the stat sheet with 22 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, and four blocks. Sean Nicholas (15 points, 11 rebounds) and Tavarus Benta (13 points, 9 assists) also had strong showings, while Kwame Brathwaite (10 points, 9 rebounds, 7 steals) and Ariel Quallis (10 points, 7 assists, 5 steals) rounded out the balanced attack.

ABTB put up a fight behind Marlon Charles, who stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Devorn Benjamin (14 points) and Ishaan Peets (13 points) also reached double figures in scoring, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Richie’s high-powered offense.
