Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda triumph in 2024 Police Week Rifle Shooting Competition

The 2024 Police Week Rifle Shooting Competition, held on September 14, 2024, at Crabbs Rifle Range, saw fierce competition among various security forces and shooting clubs in Antigua and Barbuda.

The event, overseen by Range Official 1st Lieutenant Chevaughn Pigott, showcased remarkable marksmanship across different categories.

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda (RPFAB) emerged as the overall winner, securing first place with an impressive team score of 391.6 points. The Antigua and Barbuda Shooting Club (ABSC) claimed second place with 386.11 points, while the Antigua and Barbuda Defense Force (ABDF) took third with 351.6 points.

In individual performances, Sgt. Travis Crump of the RPFAB stood out as the star of the competition. Crump not only achieved the highest overall score for a male participant, but also recorded the highest overall score of the entire competition with 49.1 points.

Among the RPFAB team members, No. 264 Sgt. Clint Spencer and No. 107 Sgt. Charlesworth Martin (Cap) secured second and third places respectively, with scores of 44 and 41.2.

The Antigua and Barbuda Shooting Club also displayed impressive marksmanship. Laurne Benjamin Vice Cap led the team with a score of 46.2, followed closely by Anderson Perry (Cap) with 46.1 points, and Dr Reverend Olson Daniel with 45.3 points.

In the Antigua and Barbuda Defense Force category, PSC Payne claimed the top spot with 43.2 points, followed by Col. Micheal with 40.1 points, and 2Lt. Mathwin with 39 points.

The competition also recognized outstanding performances in special categories. Maxime James was honoured as the Highest Overall Scoring Female with 42 points, representing the Antigua and Barbuda Shooting Club.
