Rockersville record first win, Stingerz remain unbeaten

It was celebration time for Harold Lovell Rockersville last Thursday as they recorded their first win in the State Insurance Company Ltd sponsored Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Division One league.

Rockersville, who hail from the Fort Road/Gambles area, stunned Ottos Full Throttle in the first match of the double-header evening, winning 76-70.

Morlon “Little” Davis and Walton “Bundy” Christian led the team with 20 points each. Christian grabbed an additional 12 rebounds while Davis had nine.

Teammate, Earl Lavishere assisted, netting 10.

Akeem “Chemist” Davis was the leading scorer for Ottos with 20 points. He was assisted by Lincoln Weekes who sank 18, snatched seven rebounds and made six assists.

Shawn “Gizmo” Williams also got in on the action banking 12 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and earning six assists.

LJ Northside Stingerz continued their unbeaten run to 9-0 after trouncing Idea Media Outlaws 98-58.

Trinidadian guard Akeem Boyd led the charge for the victors netting 23 points and nine rebounds. Teammates, Kenny Doumechet and Vivian “Boast” Destin both contributed, scoring 17 points.

Devorn Benjamin assisted with 15 points and Keroi “Dragon” Lee added 11 points and 10 rebounds to the victors’ tally.

Ishan Peets was the lone player in double figures for Outlaws scoring 25 points.
