The Ministry of Works has postponed the planned closure of Sir Sydney Walling Highway (SSWH) between Pares Village and Collins junction, originally scheduled for November 18th, following public feedback.
The Project Implementation Management Unit announced they will investigate alternative routes before proceeding with any closure. The section in question, a key transportation artery, will remain open while officials evaluate other options.
The Ministry plans to issue an updated timeline and details early next week. This decision reflects the government’s response to concerns raised by stakeholders and community members about the proposed closure’s impact.
Further updates on the highway project and potential alternative routes will be communicated through official channels.
I’m confused they didn’t think this through before planning to close the road? The work should be done at night it’s much cooler out. What’s the expression the 7 P’s? Is their first road? Certainly by now they should know how to plan out roadwork so it can be done efficiently. oh wait if you just wing it, you can drag out the project. Sorry I was thinking logically again, must have hit my head.
