Richie’s Shooterz took a one-nil lead in their best of three Business Basketball League Playoffs Finals against league champions Sandals on Tuesday, beating their opponents by just four points when they met at the JSC basketball complex.
Shooterz, looking for their first title in the Cool & Smooth sponsored competition, were led by Cohen Desouza who sank 14 points to lift his team to the 56-52 triumph. He was assisted by Darnell Azille and Kwame Braithwaite who had 12 and 10 points each.
In a losing effort, Keroi Lee and T-Shawn Lewis both top-scored for Sandals with 14 points each. Kim Casey contributed with 10 points.
Game two will be contested on November 7 starting at 7:30 pm.
