The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SpiceMas Grenada Kirk Seetahal says carnival events which showcase traditional aspects of culture should not be abolished, despite them not generating money.

He says one cannot put a price on culture and the body which is in charge of Grenada’s carnival has fought for legislation to ensure that promoters also contribute to generating revenue.

The carnival organiser is also advocating for self-monitoring when it comes to excessive alcohol consumption during the carnival season.

He says the number of motor vehicle accidents resulting from excessive drinking  should serve as a reminder to patrons who abuse alcohol throughout the year.
The CEO of SpiceMas Grenada Kirk Seetahal was a guest on today’s OBSERVER AM radio programme.
