Former top flight contenders, Ottos Rangers, remained unbeaten in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) First Division after recording their third straight win, beating Bendals FC 4-1 at the Rangers playing field on Tuesday.
Rangers were led by Josue Arias who recorded a double, striking in minutes 66 and 68. National striker Junior Benjamin had given Rangers the advantage on minute 62 before Kylano Isaac sealed the victory with an 83rd minute conversion. Kaijah Matthew scored the lone goal for the visiting team when he struck in minute 90.
Also on Tuesday, Freeman’s Village Scorpions recorded their second win in two matches, edging Tryum FC 2-1 when they met at Freeman’s Village, as they take their tally of points to seven from three encounters.
Scorpions were led by Adrian Benjamin (45) and Darius Hector (75) who both struck once in the close contest. Tryum’s Eliot Donowa scored his team’s only goal in the 57th minute. Tryum was reduced to 10 men in the dying stages of the contest when Zabuda McCoy received the automatic red after picking up his second caution of the match.
In the other match contested, Jennings United also carried their tally of points to seven from three matches with a 3-0 win over former top flight champions, Empire FC.
Playing at home, Jennings had goals from Shaquille Watkins (16), Kemon Samuel (47) ad Jean-Pierre Williams as they rallied to the comfortable win while handing Empire their first defeat in three showings.
In the Second Division, Bluejays defeated West Ham 4-1 at Cedar Grove.
JaRhon Thomas led the charge for the victors with goals in the opening minute and in the 62nd while Makele Francis (7) and Kishorn Hamilton (12) each netted once. Karim Emanuel scored the only goal for West Ham when he struck in minute 49.
