Members of the PMS Under-14 Boys squad celebrate with their championship trophy

The Princess Margaret School (PMS) were crowned champions of the Boys’ Under-14 Division in the Schools Football Competition following a 1-1 draw with rivals Ottos Comprehensive School (OCS) on Monday.

Shamar Walters put PMS ahead in the fourth minute before Jahlaney Bachelor drew Ottos level just five minutes later.

Neither team could find a winner in the tightly contested fixture, but a draw was good enough to lift PMS to the title as it pushed them to 27 points, five ahead of second-placed All Saints Secondary School (ASSS) in the standing. OCS finished fourth in the competition with 16 points.

Meanwhile, ASSS secured their silver medal finish with a 5-2 victory over St Joseph’s Academy (SJA) also on Monday.

Kymani Francis led the scoring for ASSS with a quadruple of goals, scoring in minutes three, seven, 14 and 25 to lead his team’s onslaught. Jahrome Marsh scored the other goal in the 50th minute. Iczjaire Sebastian and Joshua James both scored once for SJA.

Also, in the Under-14 Boys, the Antigua Grammar School (AGS) beat Clare Hall Secondary School (CHSS) 5-0 to finish third in the standings with 20 points.

Tafari Parker led the charge with a hattrick, netting in minutes 28, 33 and 37. Kevonte Lewis netted in the 20th while CHSS conceded an own-goal in minute 30.

In the lone female match contest Monday, Jennings Secondary School (JSS) beat CHSS, 2-0.

Chalecia Byers (22) and Latoya Williams (33) were the goal-scorers for Jennings.
