Press Release: Police Probe Stabbing Death

Police are investigating a stabbing incident on Lower St. Johns Street in the Point Area, which apparently led to the death of 25yr-old Gavin Edwards of Yorks.
It is alleged that around 9:45 pm on Monday, both Edwards and 21yr-old Anthony Joseph of Point were involved in an altercation. The situation escalated into a fight, to the point where Edwards allegedly used a bottle to inflict a wound to Joseph’s head.
Joseph allegedly retaliated by arming himself with a pair of scissors, which he used to stab Edwards in his abdomen.
He was taken to Mount St. Johns Medical Center where he was pronounced dead around 11:00 pm by a medical doctor.
Joseph is currently being treated at the hospital for injuries to his head under police security.
Police are continuing their investigations into the matter.
