Potters bounce back, Flyers trump Police

Following their upsetting loss to defending champions F and G Trading Cuties Ovals Ojays, Potters Steelers bounced back to defeat Idea Media Outlaws 88-74 on Thursday night at JSC.

National player and captain of Steelers Nation Kareem “Macky” Edwards led the charge with 23 points 10 rebounds and five block shots.

Teammate and fellow national player Cohen Desouza chipped in netting 14, snatching 18 and making 10 assists.

Gerard “Dumbo” Henry also got in on the action sinking 14 points and making 11 rebounds.

Outlaws’ Darius Daniels who played for Potters last season made his return to the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association Division 1 league, banking 23 points and recording 12 assists.

The overseas-based player was assisted by Ishaan Peets, who made 17 points and grabbed five rebounds.

Outlaws remain winless.

In the other encounter that night, former champions Flyers Basketball disposed of Police Vertex, trouncing them 99-56.

Esteban Martinez led all scorers with 39 points. National player, Sharife Sergeant sank 16, cleaned the boards with 12 rebounds and made six assists.

Eddy Peillon also contributed scoring 14 points, grabbing 20 rebounds and making six steals.

Games will continue tonight at JSC starting at 6:45 when Flyers Basketball will play Outlaws, while Ottos Full Throttle and Police Vertex will face off at 8:30.
