Top members of the police force met on Monday to fine-tune preparations for the upcoming tropical storm.

Meteorologists have issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Antigua and Barbuda and several other islands.

Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney took the opportunity to go over the Police Disaster Operations Plan with several senior officers and emphasize the police’s roles and responsibilities in the event that Antigua and Barbuda is affected by the storm.

The primary focus of the discussion was on ensuring that proper measures are in place to safeguard life and property, as well as the safety and security of everyone before, during, and after the storm.

Additionally, the police will collaborate with the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) and other supporting agencies to provide assistance if the islands are affected.

Residents of low-lying and flood-prone areas are advised to continuously monitor the weather and be prepared to take necessary actions in advance.

The public is urged to remain indoors during and after the storm until the relevant authorities give the all-clear to minimize the risk of injury or harm to first responders and emergency personnel.

Residents can be confident that the police are prepared and equipped to respond effectively to any situation if the impending weather impacts Antigua and Barbuda.

The Police Administration expects full cooperation from everyone.
