Yesterday, the police set fire to approximately $30 million worth of drugs at the Burma Dump.
The destroyed contraband comprised cocaine, cannabis, hashish and ecstasy. These were drugs that came from the Police, the High Court, and the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) after being disposed of in the court or seized without any arrests being made.
This is the fourth set of drugs that had been destroyed this year, and the single largest amount for 2018, taking the total value of the
drugs destroyed in this manner to almost $50 million.
Several sections of the media were invited to witness the destruction which was supervised by High Court Justice, Keith Thom.
