Diamonds International Police emerged victors of the ACB Sir Richie Richardson 35 overs cricket competition after finishing the Parish League tournament with 52 points, 20 points clear of nearest rivals Freetown and St Paul’s who both finished with 32 points.
The lawmen wrapped up their impressive show with back to back victories over the weekend.
On Sunday, Police defeated Seatons by 64 runs at Seatons. Batting first, Police reached 222 for six with Derek Mourillon hitting 95 and Cordell Olivierre adding 74 to the total.
In reply, Seatons could only reach 158 for six with a top knock of 70 coming from Zavier Freeland while Goodwin Prince made 24.
Bowling for the lawmen, James Cornelius bagged two for 14 while Kerry Skepple picked up two for 39.
On Saturday, Police had defeated Mahico by 58 runs when the teams clashed at the Police Recreation Ground (PRG).
The other matches scheduled for the weekend were all abandoned owing to issues connected to the weather.
Pigotts Crushers and St Pauls were due to clash in Pigotts while the Seatons and John Hughes encounter, carded for Seatons, was also affected by the wet conditions.
John Hughes and Seatons both finished on 28 points, Pigotts closed out the competition on 24 points, Urlings finished with 16 points, and Mahico picked up 12 points. (Neto Baptiste)
