Pointville push undefeated record, Ovals 3 edge out Dream Chasers

With the first round of matches almost complete, Gaston Browne Pointville Ballers remain in favourable position to gain one of two promotion spots. They pushed their undefeated record to 6-0 after their latest win on Tuesday night in Division 3 of the State Insurance Company Ltd sponsored Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) league.  

Pointville trounced A-Mobile Young Rivals 66-46 at JSC in the first match of the double-header evening.

Kyle Alexander led the way with a stellar performance of 28 points, 16 rebounds and eight steals.

He was assisted by Trey Beazer who netted 25 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and made seven steals.

Young Rivals’ Jeffrey George had 16 points and nine rebounds, while teammate Tahj Kirby contributed scoring 11 and snatching eight rebounds.

Young Rivals now hold a 1-5 record.

F and G Trading Cuties Ovals Ojays 3 recorded their third win of the season edging out Dream Chasers 70-68.

The feature encounter did not disappoint fans, going down to the wire with both teams exchanging baskets, but it would be Ovals who would reign supreme with Daniel Perez leading the fray with a game high 32 points, 10 rebounds and nine steals.

Reginald “Reggie” Barnes assisted, netting 17 and grabbing 10 rebounds, while teammate Aidan Cannonier cleaned the boards with an astounding 29 rebounds. Cannonier had an additional 13 points.

Dream Chasers’ Braulio Estrada was the leading scorer making 22 points and seven steals. Teammate, Steadroy “Happy” Graham chipped in banking 21 and Tyreke Lewis 10.

Jesus Lopez also got in on the action scoring 10, grabbing 10 rebounds and making six steals.

Ovals are now 3-2 while Dream Chasers are 4-1.
