Pigotts Sports Club triumphs in CPTSA Invitational Under-13 Football Championships

Pigotts Sports Club emerged champions in the CPTSA Wings Summer Invitational Under-13 Football Championships following a dominant 4-1 triumph over Cutting Edge Football Academy at the North Coach FC playing field over the weekend.

Playing in the final of the under-13 competition, Pigotts SC were led by Tevin Henderson who picked up a hattrick with three goals. Glenord Ambrose scored once, also for the victors. Allan Henry scored the lone goal for Cutting Edge.

Henry, despite the loss, did not walk away too disappointed after being named the Golden Boot winner for his 12 strikes in the tournament. The Best Goalkeeper award went to Aaric Romain of Athletic International Academy out of Trinidad and Tobago.

Earlier, in their semifinal match-ups, Cutting Edge defeated Liberta Blackhawks 3-1. Henry scored all three goals for Cutting Edge while Asante Warner was the lone goal-scorer for Blackhawks. In the other semifinal clash, Pigotts SC eliminated Athletic International Academy after winning by a 3-0 margin. Henderson scored twice for Pigotts with an own-goal accounting for the other conversion.

In other results on the day, Gray’s Green defeated CPTSA Wings 3-1, Cutting Edge beat Lion Hill Cubs 4-0 and Liberta Blackhawks had the better of Hoppers FC 2-1.
