A one-sided penalty shootout saw Pigotts Sports Club emerge victorious against Freemans Village Football Club in a match that went down to the wire. The intense contest, which remained scoreless through regular time and extra time, was ultimately decided by a penalty shootout, with Pigotts SC prevailing 4-1.
The penalty shootout saw exceptional performances from Pigotts SC’s players. Akeem Isaac, Shamoi Andrew, Jamarlie Stevens, and Rodney Lawrence all successfully converted their penalties, demonstrating nerves of steel under pressure.
Freeman’s Village FC managed to score once through Roy Gregory, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the precise shooting of their opponents.
The tournament, sponsored by LWT Shipping Services Ltd, saw Pigotts SC walk away with the top prize of $3,500, while runners-up Freemans Village FC received $1,500 for their commendable performance.
Individual awards were also presented to standout players:
- Jahzzair White of Freeman’s Village FC was named Best Defender, receiving an award compliments of 4K Sports Accessories +.
- The Best Young Player award went to Josue Arias, also from Freeman’s Village FC, courtesy of Football Profile 268.
- Garden Stars FC’s Jahred Williams claimed the Best Midfielder title.
- Jamarlie Stevens of Pigotts SC, who also played a crucial role in the penalty shootout, was deservedly named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
