Pigotts Crushers and Freetown recently picked up comfortable victories in the Antigua Commercial Bank (ACB) Dave Joseph 35 Overs Parish League Competition.
Playing at home on Saturday, Pigotts defeated St. Paul’s by 77 runs.
Winning the toss and opting to bat, Pigotts amassed 221 for from 31 overs. Rolston Phillip top scored with 61 while Uri Smith and Jermaine Otto contributed with 41 and 39 runs, respectively.
Frankie Francis was the pick of the bowlers for the visiting team, picking up three wickets for 45 runs.
St. Paul’s fell short in their chase, only managing to reach 144 for 7. Their best effort came from Geetesh Harilall with 37 runs while Derek Benta added 27 in a losing effort.
Dean Williams and Raul John were in target with the ball for Pigotts claiming 2 for 25 and 2 for 27 respectively.
Meanwhile, Freetown had the better of Seatons by seven wickets when the teams clashed in Freetown, also on Saturday.
Batting first, Seatons found little success at the crease after they were bowled out for just 95 runs. Clarence Frederick was the standout batsman with 46 runs, half of his team’s total.
Javier Drew was destructive with the ball as he grabbed three wickets for just two runs bowling for the victors.
Freetown, when their turn at the crease arrived, cruised to 96 for 3. Drew and Glen Weekes were 38 not out and 27 not out, respectively.
Xavier Freeland was the only bowler of note for Seatons, as he snatched 2 wickets for 14 runs.
