The 8th annual Mahijah Davis Basketball Christmas Fiesta Camp concluded with Derick Perez earning MVP honors, highlighting his consistent development through multiple years of participation in the academy.

Former national basketball player Mahijah Davis praised Perez’s exceptional performance, noting how his experience and skills stood out among the nine participants who completed this year’s camp. “He’s been to the academy for a number of years, and he has been consistent and really displayed his skills over the others,” Davis commented.

The camp also recognized Latrell Ramsay with the Most Disciplined Player award in his second year of participation. Davis noted Ramsay’s remarkable progress from his first appearance, saying, “He made major improvements from last time where he was very shy… but he still keeps up that same good attitude and is a lot more interested in the game of basketball.”

Darield Peralta rounded out the awards, earning recognition as Most Improved Player for his development during the camp.

While attendance was lower compared to previous years, Davis remained optimistic about the camp’s impact and success and he expressed gratitude for being able to conduct the eighth edition of the camp and looking forward to next year’s event.

The intimate setting allowed for focused instruction and development, maintaining the camp’s tradition of nurturing young basketball talent in Antigua and Barbuda.
