Sisserou suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of VIP in the Dredgers T10 softball cricket league on Tuesday night, going under by 104 runs at the Dredgers Cricket Ground.
VIP won the toss and opted to bat and got off to a cracker. Demetri Lucas, fresh from his stint in the UK, ransacked the bowling of the opposition in a whirlwind 78 not out. He smashed nine sixes and three fours on his way to the total.
Lucas was well supported by Under-19 batter Shemar Pereira who cracked eight sixes of his own. They were able to get to 192 for two at the end of their 10 overs.
Sisserou, already facing a daunting task, never really got going and just batted their 10 overs to boost their net run rate. They could only manage 88 for six from their allotment of overs with Anthony Mathurin top-scoring with 17 runs. Leeward Islands Under-17 player Ozan Williams made mockery of them by sending down two overs for six runs with one maiden and collected four wickets.

In the final encounter of the evening, Rackaman Construction Strictly Business knocked out of the league with a heavy defeat to Under Dogs. In a one-sided affair, the business team opted to bat first and struggled against the bowling of Dario Hodge who bagged three for eight, Vishal Gobin bagged two for two, and Kenny Benjamin grabbed two for 23. Kenny Allen (20) was the only batter to make a score of significance in their total of 55.
In reply, national batsman Kenrick Scott (50) took a liking to Treverson Atley smashing him for three consecutive sixes — the first over extra cover, the other over fine leg and the last over deep mid-wicket. The carnage continued when captain, Kerry Mentore took the ball. He was unable to quell the onslaught and the meagre target of 56 was overhauled by the Under Dogs in just 3.2 overs.
