Defending champions Paragons continue to make an impressive run in the female division of the Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Volleyball Association (ABAVA) league as they defeated Starz in straight sets (25-20,25-16,25-22) on Thursday night at the YMCA Volleyball Indoor facility.
The champions now hold a 2-0 record.
In the male division, Sharks also won in straight sets as High Flyers failed to produce a team.
Twenty-four hours earlier, Jetz rallied to edge out Starz Nova, 3-2 in the female division.
Nova won the first set, 27-25 but faltered in the second giving Jetz a chance to gain momentum and claim the second and third sets; 25-23,25-21.
Nova however would not go down quietly digging deep to claim the fourth 23-25 and push to a final fifth set.
Both teams were evenly matched but a lapse in judgement would cost Nova the game as Jetz pushed to win the set, 15-11.
In the male division, defending champions Stoneville flexed their muscles on High Flyers B defeating them in straight sets, 25-10, 26-19, 25-14.
Games will continue tonight at 6:30 p.m. as Jetz will face Stoneville in the female category while in the male section, Enforcers will battle Pytonz.
