An Ottos woman is seeking the public’s assistance to find her vehicle that was stolen from the parking lot close to the Government Printery some time between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
According to the owner of the vehicle, Bridget Alexander, who is a vendor at Carnival City (Antigua Recreation Grounds), she parked the vehicle in the vicinity of the printery around 7 pm on Monday and discovered it missing early yesterday.
“I went in to sell last night for the show after parking my vehicle by the printery. I came out about 1 am to go to my vehicle. When I reached there, the vehicle was not there,” she said.
Alexander said she immediately walked back to the grounds where she made the report to officers stationed there.
“I walked up to one of the corporals and told him somebody stole my vehicle. He was like I was joking so then I said I was serious [and] he called the sergeant.
They came and asked me questions and [wrote] down where my vehicle was and then one of the sergeants called 911 and still call CID and asked them to send out the vehicle number and the colour of vehicle and everything,” she recounted.
The vehicle is a blue Toyota Rav 4 bearing the registration number A8198.
The woman said a bag with all her tools and a folder with important information and receipts were in the vehicle.
She is appealing to the car thieves to return her vehicle undamaged with all the items.
“I’m asking you please, I don’t want my vehicle damaged. Just leave it somewhere I or anyone can find it and I can get my vehicle back. Please leave all my items in there, especially the tool bag,” she pleaded.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of this vehicle is asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Department at 462-3913/4 or Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).
