Own goals send Second Division squads spiralling

St. John’s Antigua- Sometimes a football team does not have to score a goal to win a match, but by the other team scoring on themselves.

This was the case when Glanvilles hosted Tryum last Wednesday when Tryum scored on their own keeper to lose by a goal to nil.

In another match an own goal by Lyndon Lawrence  of CPTSA Wings aided in his team’s 2-nil defeat to Liberta. Joel Westney scored the other goal.

At Parham Playing Field, Young Parham ABBYA beat Hill Top, 2-1. Jahwon Locker scored both goals for ABBYA, and Yafu Lake scored for Hill Top.

Antigua & Barbuda Football Association Second Division matches set for Friday include leaders English Harbour versus Young Warriors at English Harbor; Shot Guns versus 5Ps at Johnsons; Golden Grove versus Garden Stars at Golden Grove, and Pares versus Hatton Stars at Pares.
