Ovals remain perfect, Ottos record first win

Defending Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association Division One champions, F and G Trading Cuties Ovals Ojays, made it 2-0 on Saturday night at JSC.

The Ojays handed newly-promoted Rockersville their second straight loss, winning, 91-45, in the first match of the double-header evening.

Captain, Bryan “Hollywood” Matthew, led his team to victory scoring 23 points and grabbing five rebounds.

He was assisted by overseas-based player, and the reigning Playoffs MVP, Joshua Minner, who had 14.

National player, Raviel Burton, also got in on the action netting, 13.

Rockersville’s Nigel “Snarks” Joseph made 13 points while teammate Morlon “Little” Davis chipped in snatching 11 rebounds.

Meawhile, in the feature encounter, Ottos Full Throttle stunned former champions, Baldwin Spencer Braves, beating them 74-62.

This is the first win of the season for the Ottos men who were led by national junior player, Lincoln Weekes, who had a game-high 34 points.

He was assisted by Warren Bogle who banked 23 points, grabbed five rebounds and made four assists.

Raymond Dickenson was the leading scorer for Braves, netting 20 points. Felix Hamilton contributed as well, scoring 13 and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Division Two and Three matches will continue tonight starting at 6:30 at JSC as Wadadli Elite 1 will play Police Vertex Reloaded while at 8:30 Young Rivals will battle Court Martials.

Meanwhile, at YMCA at 6:30, Gunners will play Fearless Crew 1 and at 8:30, Ottos Coolers will face Rebels.
