Ovals pick up double victories

It was a good day for the F and G Trading Cuties Ovals Ojays basketball club in the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association competition as both the second and third division teams picked up victories on Wednesday night at the JSC Sports Complex.
Ovals 3 trounced Wadadli Elites 58-44 in the Division 3 match-up.
National junior player, Delornje Jules led the charge with 21 points.
He was assisted by Judah Ferris who sank 11 points and made five assists and Mico Scotland who snatched 12 rebounds and five blocked shots.
Elite’s Jevonte Valerie and Sheldon Gomes Jr. both had 13 points while Valerie grabbed 15 rebounds.
Ovals 3 now hold a record of eight wins and two losses while Elites now have a 5-4 record.
Ovals 2 rallied to upset Antigua Home and Office Depot Rebels, 73-62.
The second division team which struggled in the first round, recorded their third straight win as Ndegwa Malone had a 22-point, six rebounds performance.
Percy Adams chipped in with 18 points and five rebounds while teammate, Keddy Martin contributed by netting 16.
Rebels’ Kareem Blair had 20 points and 16 rebounds with teammate, Kirwan Peterson sinking 19 points in a losing effort.
In the other games that night at Ovals, Callaloo Cay Old Road Daggers trounced Christos KAG United, 61-40 while Bolans won by default as All Saints Slam failed to produce a team.
