One-year tint waiver only for existing PPV operators — Transport Authority

Jamaica – The Transport Authority is advising that the one-year waiver given to operators of Public Passenger Vehicles (PPV) for the removal of tints from their vehicles applies only to existing operators.
It says all new applications will therefore be considered based on compliance with the tint regulations as well as the other requirements for the granting of licence.
Meanwhile, operators are being reminded that the installation of curtains, screens, tints or other similar devices on a public passenger vehicle which prevents inward view is an offence.
The Authority is commending the operators in compliance with the rules and encouraging other operators to do the same.
