Old rivals to clash in ABCA Two-Day finals

Defending champions, PIC Liberta Blackhawks, will meet longtime rivals Empire Nation in the finals of the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association (ABCA) Two-Day Competition, after picking up first innings points in the semifinal round over the weekend.
Blackhawks, who hosted Caribbean Union Bank (CUB) Bethesda Golden Eagles in Liberta, amassed 328 all
out after winning the toss and opting to bat. Ian Gore top scored with 143 while Kofi James contributed with 82.
Bethesda, in reply, reached 121 before they were all out in 37 overs. Kief Baltimore hit 41 and Deran Benta chipped in with 36.
Neither team was able to bat a second time.
Meanwhile at King George V Grounds, Empire posted a first innings total of 445 all out after they were asked to bat by Burton’s Laundry All Saints Pythons who won the toss.
Cleyton Payne was on cue with the bat, hitting 143, Kenrick Scott made 75 and Jauri Edwards chipped in with 60. Bowling for All Saints, Kadeem Josiah claimed four wickets for 108 runs.
When their turn at the crease arrived, All Saints were all out for 250 from 47.3 overs. Kerry Mentore top scored with 43 while there were knocks of 35 and 34 from Michael Dover and Larry Audain respectively.
Bowling for Empire Nation, Justin Athanaze picked up four for 54, Samuel Peters claimed three for 34 and Jaeo Benjamin snatched two for 35.
The match was then called off but Empire had already taken first innings points from the contest.
A venue for the finals has not yet been announced by the ABCA.
