Ovals Ojays recorded a second straight win in the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Division 2 competition on Wednesday with a 28-points triumph over Fearless Crew at the JSC basketball complex.
Playing in the feature game of a double-header, Ovals dominated three of the four quarters, outscored 13-12 only in the first quarter before going on to claim the second quarter 21-11, winning the third quarter 14-11 and out-scoring their opponents 31-15 in the final quarter to take the contest 78-50.
Raheem Sawyer led the scoring for Ovals with 15 points while there were 14 points each from Tajahron Davis and Tequan Brodie. Brodie also had 11 rebounds while Davis grabbed seven. Shaheim Omarde contributed with 12 points and five rebounds.
In a losing effort, Ronel Gomez led the scoring for Fearless Crew with 15 points while Joel Christian and Rafiki Harris both sank 12 points.
Meanwhile, there was victory as well for Navigators who claimed their first win of the season by a 69-49 scoreline over Old Road Daggers.
Navigators out-scored Old Road in all four quarters. They claimed the opening quarter 17-14, the second 20-18, the third 14-8 and the fourth 18-9.
De-Lornge Jules was the top performer for Navigators, scoring 18 points and grabbing six rebounds off the bench. Baldwin Anthony Jr contributed with 15 points and 15 rebounds with Victor Osborne and Ariel Quallis hitting 12 and 10 points respectively. Quallis also had 13 rebounds.
For Old Road, Devea Aaron top-scored with 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds while Kelvin “Shugy” Simon dropped 13 points and picked up 16 rebounds.
