National triple-jumper Taeco Ogarro ended his 2019 track and field season with a sixth-place finish in the Men’s Under-20 triple jump at the Pan American Under-20 Games in Costa Rica.

Ogarro jumped a distance of 15.60 meters on Saturday.

Despite not earning a spot on the medal podium, the former Antigua Grammar School (AGS) student was still in high spirits.

The Farleigh Dickenson University (FDU) freshman posted on Facebook on Sunday: “May not have gotten in the top 3 but our flag is amongst the top once again guys. The important part is to let everyone know you were a part of that fight. We ‘lickle’ but we ‘Tallawah‼’ Carrying this small island flag to heights where it can be seen is my joy.”

Meanwhile, female junior sprinter Joella Lloyd did not compete.

Lloyd, whose health recently came into question, did not compete in either of her two events, the 100 meters and 200 meters slated for last Friday and Saturday at the Estadio Nacional in San Jose.
