Six police officers, including the top Cop Wendel Robinson, have been recommended for meritorious awards for their role in the recapture of triple murder accused Delano Forbes earlier this month.

The Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, Everton Jeffers, confirms that this was done in a meeting with the top brass on Friday.

The six officers are Commissioner Robinson and Constable Marvin Cuffy who gave the directives from base and the four who went into the field were Theodore Horne, Travis Crump, Timothy Phillip and Clint Spencer.

Deputy Commissioner Jeffers says the officers did a remarkable job and that’s why he sent the recommendation to the commissioner, but it ultimately has to go to the Police Service Commission for that group to decide.

If approved, the award would be in the form of a medal and not monetary.

Meanwhile, he says as far as he’s aware the 50 thousand dollar reward which was offered to any member of the public who provided information that helped recapture the prisoner, has not been paid out.

Forbes is accused of killing three men last year and when officers took him back to one of the scenes on February 12th, he escaped. He was recaptured about a month later in Follies.
