Senator Shawn Nicholas announced her resignation as minority leader during today’s Senate sitting.
A senator since 2013, she thanked her colleagues and the people of Antigua and Barbuda for their support throughout her tenure.
In the same session, Senator Rawdon Turner was elected unopposed as Vice President following nomination by Government Senator Shenella Govia and seconding by Senator Dwayne George.
Turner fills the vacancy left by Osbert Frederick, who resigned on November 14 to become Speaker of the House of Representatives.
