The much-anticipated Newsco Observer raffle surpassed all expectations, with the sale of hundreds of tickets that attracted a record-breaking number of eager participants keen to test their luck and show support for the local media house.
Of course, the highlight was the raffle drawing this past Saturday, which offered a staggering 23 incredible prizes. These prizes included a diverse range of items, from coveted plane tickets to high-quality home appliances, each more enticing than the last.
As the winners were announced, cheers and rapturous applause erupted on Facebook Live and in our studio during the Serpent in the Snakepit broadcast.
Each prize found its way into the hands of deserving individuals, each with a unique story.
Supported by the esteemed Queen of Carnival, Desiree Markham, and members of the Newsco Observer Newsco team, the Observer Day raffle proved to be a resounding success.
The event, specially planned to upgrade our broadcast ability, was particularly meaningful and exciting for those participants who wish to support free and independent media here in Antigua and Barbuda.
