Newfield claim the double in Village Netball league

Newfield claimed the double in the recently concluded Antigua and Barbuda Netball Association (ABNA) Village league.

The 2019 edition saw the country team earn both the Female and Mixed Division titles with an undefeated run in both categories.

Willikies settled for second place in the Female section and Roman Hill third, while in the Mixed Roman Hill claimed the silver and Ovals the bronze.

Newfield wrapped up their championship in the Female Division after winning their final two matches, beating Willikies 22-16, in Willikies, and hammering Roman Hill 26-9 at the YMCA Sports Complex.

Esther Emmanuel led the charge for the champion team in their match versus Roman Hill banking 16 of her 20 attempts. She was assisted by teammate and national player, Seymone Parkes who made 10 of 12.

The Newfield mixed division team secured their title after stunning top contenders Roman Hill, 21-17.

Josh Donaldson led his team by netting 19 of his 25 attempts.

Roman Hill’s Akiel Hazelwood made 8 of 8, Randy Frederick 7 of 8, and Dwayne Fleming 2 of 6.
