Prime Minister Gaston Browne welcomed the new Mexican Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda on Tuesday, and expressed his willingness to further cultivate the long-standing diplomatic relations between Antigua and Barbuda and Mexico, which were first established in 1984.
His Excellency Oscar Esparza-Vargas, Ambassador of the United Mexican States is based in St. Lucia, and is accredited to the member states of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).
The Mexican Ambassador was on his first official visit to Antigua and Barbuda and he seized the opportunity to congratulate Prime Minister Browne on his reappointment as Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, and affirmed that Antigua and Barbuda can count on Mexico as a reliable partner.
Prime Minister Browne expressed his appreciation to the Mexican Ambassador for the U.S. $5 million promised by the Mexican Government for a social housing project in Antigua and Barbuda.
