Navigators and Ojays cruise to comfortable victories in Second Division

The Navigators dominated from start to finish, securing a commanding 84-45 victory over DA Project in Monday night’s Antigua & Barbuda Basketball Association Division One encounter at the JSC Sports Complex.

Baldwin Anthony led a balanced Navigators attack with 22 points and 20 rebounds with De-Lornge Jules adding 22 points on 76.9% shooting to help the Navigators improve their position in the standings. Ricky Willock and Ryan Shepherd sank 12 and 10 points respectively.

The Navigators established their superiority early, racing to a 20-8 lead after the first quarter and extending the advantage to 37-22 by halftime. Their dominance continued in the third period as they outscored DA Project 23-12 to build an insurmountable 60-34 cushion heading into the final frame.

DA Project struggled offensively throughout the contest, shooting just 20.2% from the field and committing 29 turnovers against the Navigators’ swarming defense. Donalde Hunte was the lone bright spot for DA Project with 8 points and 12 rebounds.

Another match saw the Cuties Ovals Ojays take full advantage of Square One Construction United winning 101-36.

The Ojays established control immediately, racing to a 14-0 lead in the opening minutes behind Tajahron Davis‘ explosive start finishing with 25 points. Shaheim Omarde added 18 points and 11 rebounds along with Dajon George 14 and Najee Simon 12. The team shot an efficient 45.7% from the field compared to Square One’s struggling 22.0%.

For Square One Construction United, Dwayne Samuel led the effort with 19 points and 11 rebounds before being disqualified in the third quarter. The team struggled with 38 turnovers against the Ojays’ relentless defensive pressure.
